BY THE HIGHEST HBO CLASSIFIED STALLION IN NORTH AMERICA (82+ POINTS)!
CONGRATULATIONS TO RICOLA DTA ON BEING AWARDED THE GOLD MEDAL BY THE AMERICAN WARMBLOOD SOCIETY PERFORMANCE HORSE REGISTRY AND WINNING FIRST PLACE IN THEIR 2010 USA NATIONAL YEAR-END INSPECTION AWARDS IN THE SPORT PONY DIVISION (OUT OF ALL BREEDS INSPECTED THROUGHOUT THE U.S.)!
Ricola DTA, SILVER classified and inspected (AHR) in 2007
(b. 3.3.05). Adanac x Ricarda II GF. This American Warmblood Society (AWS) GOLD medal award winning mare is an outstanding example of the modern, pleasure sporthorse type Haflinger! At @15H, Rikka's refinement and elegance are paired with a beautiful head, very long, elegant neck (one of the longest and most beautiful necks we have seen on a Haflinger!), long, long legs, and a large, beautiful kind eye. Ricola's a pure white mane and tail, dark chestnut coloring, and leggy, modern type draw attention wherever she goes!
Ricola's pedigree is loaded with the top broodmare and sire bloodlines in the Haflinger world! Her sire, Adanac, (Afghan II x Annette) is a Star stallion and the HIGHEST classified stallion in North America at 82+ points and the only GOLD classified stallion in Canada! Adananc's sire is a former World Champion and is out of the great liz. Afghan. Adanac is also half brother to Amadeus (now deceased), who was the highest classified stallion in Austria at 85 points.
Adanac's dam, Annette (Winterstein x Assunta), is out of one of the strongest mare lines in Europe. Annette was first in her class at the 1995 and 2000 World Show, and is a full sister to Assita and to Alegra (GOLD classified-Austria). In 2010, the World Champion mares descended from this mare line.
Ricola's dam, Ricarda II, is AHR silver classified (76 points), and is out of a full sister to the dam of Rivella TOF, and by the great broodmare sire, Nabucco.
Rikka was left open for 2012, so that we can breed her to our SILVER classified Austrian imported stallion, Stellar TVR, for an early 2013 foal. With two exceptional Alfa foals out of Rikka, we can't wait to see what this cross produces!
On April 12, 2011, Rikka blessed us with what we had been hoping for--a beautiful filly out of Alfa! Rendezvous of New Horizons, aka "Roz," has long legs and a wonderful personality. Roz is joining her "big brother" at Dreamfield Manor Farm and we can't wait to see how she develops!
On March 8, 2010, this beautiful, tall, elegant mare out of the highest GOLD HBO classified stallion in North America had her first foal--a stunning, tall colt--by the three-time National Champion Stallion (2007, 2009 and 2010), 2009 Reserve Champion SIP Stallion-of-the-Year, and 2010 Champion SIP Stallion, Alfa of Genesis--the highest GOLD AHR classified stallion in North America and only three-time National Champion! This foal was sold the week after Rikka was bred!
A Black Tie Affair NW HRZN, a stunning colt who is going to be VERY tall, has exceeded our expectations on this cross! "Tux" has an incredible length of neck, a beautiful head with a large, kind eye, fantastic movement, and wonderful temperament! His pedigree includes the strongest mare and stallion lines in the Haflinger Breed from Austria and Holland, and is loaded with World and National Champions. Only shown twice in 2010, Tux won second place senior weanling pleasure colt in a very competitive class at the 2010 AHR Futurity, and 2nd place 2-year-old and under stallion/gelding at the 2010 KILE show in Pennsylvania!
In September 2010 Ricola was inspected by the American Warmblood Society (AWS) Performance Sporthorse Registry. Not only did she score very high red preferred--missing blue preferred by only .15% of a point--she was awarded the bronze medal for being the third highest scoring horse inspected at the Michigan site! Comments from the AWS inspector include: nice swinging back, good use of topline, good rhythm and balance, nice wither and beautiful neck! The inspector also commented on the purity of gaits in the Haflinger breed, and that they have some of the purest gaits of all of the horse breeds that she has inspected! Rikka then went on to win the GOLD medal and was ranked first in the nation (sport pony division) for the 2010 AWS USA National Year End Inspection Awards Program!
In 2010 Rikka began her under saddle career. After only a few weeks under saddle, she attended the New York Gold Haflinger Classic and won first place under BOTH judges in the English pleasure walk/trot class! She also competed successfully in intro level dressage tests and in western pleasure walk/jog! This elegant mare has a beautiful, powerful trot and a ground-covering stride, with lots of extension up front and movement from behind, and is very willing and eager to please under saddle.

In 2007 Ricola was shown at the Buckeye Haflinger Show where she placed 2nd in a very competitive class. She also received second place at the 2007 Pennsylvania Haflinger Show. Ricola was classified silver with 76 points in 2007 as a growthy two-year-old. She received an 8 on neck at that time, and her neck has grown several inches since then!
