New Horizons Haflingers located at Lilac Farms LLC (Michigan) offers exceptional, tall, modern, athletic registered Haflinger sporthorses and pleasure horses for sale. Horses owned and bred by us are shown in major breed shows and open USDF and USEF rated shows throughout the Midwest and East coast, winning on-the-line in dressage sport horse breeding classes and under saddle in dressage, eventing, hunters and jumpers, against warmbloods and many other breeds! As the leading breeder of Haflinger sport horses on the 2011 USEF Leading Breeders list for Dressage Breeding, we consistently produce sport horse type Haflingers of the highest quality. We may not be one of the biggest farms, but our record reflects that we are one of the best! Our focus on quality versus quantity ensures that horses get the utmost attention and care. Our small, select group of mares were chosen from the best Austrian, German and Dutch bloodlines available, and we keep some of their exceptional offspring as future breeding and performance prospects. Our horses possess outstanding bloodlines, excellent movement and conformation, and wonderful temperament, trainability and character.
New Horizons Haflingers have the temperament, rideability and personality that adult amateurs and young riders appreciate, and the talent and gaits that professionals desire. Our philosophy is based on the belief that horses need to be extremely trainable, rideable, and willing to work, in addition to having eye appeal, excellent conformation, movement and athleticism. Our broodmares stand 14.2 3/4H-15.1H and are by GOLD, silver, ELITE, SUPREME, and/or multi-National Champion stallions. All of our mares that have been inspected are SILVER and GOLD classified and proven performers. Our premier broodmare and foundation mare, R Noble Rose APF, is one of only three mares in North America to achieve ELITE status, based on the results of her offspring that have been inspected and classified. Rosie consistently produces performance and halter champions. She is the dam of GOLD classified, Rosina of New Horizons, bred by us and now owned by Dreamfield Manor Farm in Pennsylvania, and the dam of the amazing performance mare, Reahna of Lilac Farms, also bred by us and now owned by DMF. Our newest addition, GOLD classified Poetry in Motion VHH, is the 2006 National Grand Champion and Best of Show, and is out of an ELITE mare and by one of Austria's top breeding stallions.
Our SILVER classified Austrian imported stallion, Stellar TVR, currently stands @14.3H and has a pedigree full of GOLD-rated horses, ELITE bloodlines, and World and European Champions. With his excellent conformation, outstanding movement and athleticism, and exceptional character and temperament, Stellar has already made his mark in the Haflinger and sporthorse world! He is ranked first in the nation and is CHAMPION Haflinger out of all three-year-old Haflinger stallion/geldings, and sixteenth place overall in the nation out of ALL breeds of horses (three-year-old stallions/geldings) in the 2011 USDF Year-End Dressage Sport Horse Breeding Awards Program! 2011 was Stellar's show debut at halter, and he won RESERVE CHAMPION open 3-yr-old colt/gelding at one USDF DSHB show, and CHAMPION Haflinger in the Haflinger IBC class at another! Stellar also qualified for the 2011 USDF/GAIG Breeders' Championship East Coast Series Final held at the prestigious Dressage at Devon, where he ribboned against the warmbloods in both the open 3-yr-old colt/gelding class and the Colt/Gelding Championship class! Stellar was the highest scoring stallion on the 2011 AHR U.S. inspection tour, with a score of 77, including a 9 on head and 8s on type, overall movement, hindquarter, midsection and front legs! Stellar was lightly started under saddle this year and will make his show debut in the dressage ring in 2012.
Most of our horses are also registered with the American Warmblood Society (AWS) and the United States Dressage Federation (USDF). Those of performance age and actively competing are also registered with the Performance Horse Registry (PHR).
